Dear members of the Czech Neurosurgical Society, Czech Medical Association of J.E. Purkyně
Let me greet you all as the new president of the Czech Neurosurgical Society. I would like to express my gratitude to my predecessors, professors Suchomel and Sameš, for their excellent work for the society. Thanks to them, we have established within the sphere of medical education an independent field with our own specialty and core training. The committee and its members have communicated with various authorities and institutions important for our existence – offices, departments, insurance companies, the Czech Medical Association and others. Our society has a high degree of international visibility. It is pleasing that more and more of our members command respect on the international level and hold various posts in many European and worldwide neurosurgical organizations. The position of our society is now very stable and strong, both at home and abroad.
The result of such short analyses is very important to me. It is necessary to strengthen our position while at the same time maintaining „conquered territory“. The society’s committee and all its members will continue in their active work in all fields important for our activity, be it DRG Restart, Accreditation board, SOR, cooperation with medical faculties or otherwise. The committee of the society fully intends to support international contacts on all levels. The power of the society is generated not only by the committee and its activities but also by the activities of all members of the society. I earnestly entreat all members to contribute to the development of the Czech neurosurgery. Our young colleagues may do so via their responsible and purposeful approach to their qualification progress, and older colleagues via their publications and presentations of quality research results not only at home but also abroad.
I would like to wish everyone health, happiness, and success in both personal and professional endeavors for (the remainder of) 2019.
